Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information StockaSearch stores or receives when you use the website, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Effective August 20, 2026

1. Scope and data-minimization approach

StockaSearch provides stock-research tools and financial education. The website does not currently offer user accounts, accept brokerage credentials, execute trades, or ask users to submit payment-card information. The application is designed to keep personal preference data in the user’s browser whenever practical.

This policy applies to the StockaSearch website and its directly operated pages. Links to Wikipedia, market-data providers, news publishers, Google services, and other external websites are governed by those organizations’ own policies.

2. Watchlist and theme information stored in your browser

StockaSearch uses first-party cookies and a local-storage backup to remember two optional preferences:

  • stockasearch_watchlist stores the ticker symbols and basic display names you choose for your watchlist.
  • stockasearch_theme stores whether you selected light or dark mode.

These values are stored on your device and are not used to create a StockaSearch account. You can remove them through your browser’s cookie/site-data controls. Removing them resets the saved watchlist and theme.

3. Information processed automatically

Like most websites, the hosting and security provider may process technical request information such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested URL, timestamps, referring page, and security signals. This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and maintain availability.

When you search for a ticker or open a research page, the symbol and requested chart range are sent to StockaSearch’s server-side endpoints. Those requests may be cached so multiple visitors can reuse recent market-data responses. StockaSearch does not intentionally place a person’s name or email address in the market-data cache.

4. Google AdSense and advertising cookies

StockaSearch uses or intends to use Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers to serve, limit, personalize, measure, and protect advertising. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this and/or other websites, subject to the user’s settings and applicable consent requirements.

Users can review or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. More information is available in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Where required for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, StockaSearch will use a Google-certified consent-management platform or Google’s Privacy & Messaging tools to request and record advertising choices before personalized advertising is served.

5. Service providers and external sources

StockaSearch may rely on the following categories of providers:

  • Cloudflare for website delivery, security, serverless processing, and cached market responses.
  • Google AdSense for advertising and related measurement.
  • Market-data services, including Twelve Data and Yahoo Finance endpoints, to retrieve quote, chart, search, mover, and news information.
  • Supabase for the optional server-side market-data cache used by the local/backend workflow.
  • Wikimedia Foundation projects for attributed Wikipedia company summaries.

These providers may process technical information under their own terms and privacy policies. StockaSearch does not sell a user’s saved watchlist or theme preference.

6. Your privacy choices

  • Clear StockaSearch cookies and site storage in your browser to delete the locally saved watchlist and theme.
  • Use browser settings to block or limit third-party cookies, understanding that some advertising features may no longer operate.
  • Change advertising personalization through Google Ads Settings.
  • Use the Google-certified consent controls displayed to eligible visitors to accept, reject, or revise advertising choices.
  • Avoid entering personal information into the stock-search field; it is intended only for company names and ticker symbols.

Questions about privacy practices can be sent to privacy@stockasearch.com. Do not include brokerage credentials, account numbers, or other sensitive financial information.

7. Retention and security

First-party preference cookies are configured for up to one year unless deleted earlier. Market-data cache entries have shorter freshness periods and limited retention based on data type. Hosting and advertising providers determine their own security-log and advertising-data retention under their policies.

Reasonable technical measures are used to keep API and database credentials on the server rather than in deployable browser files. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and users should not submit sensitive financial or identifying information through the stock-search interface.

8. Children’s privacy

StockaSearch is a general financial-research website and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly request personal information from children. Financial decisions by minors should involve a parent or guardian and an appropriately qualified professional.

9. Policy updates

This policy may change when the site adds providers, features, or legal requirements. The effective date at the top will be updated when material revisions are published. Continued use after a revision means the current policy applies to subsequent use.

This policy describes the current application architecture but is not legal advice. The site owner should review it against the laws that apply to the business, audience, and deployment location.
